How to Structure Your Design Fee

Start your design business in the right way!

Overview

Interior designers are very creative people with a strong passion for design, but to run your own business is a completely different thing!

Many interior designers run into problems when they set up their own business because of a lack of commercial experience – which can lead to incorrect fee proposals.

Being able to present a well-structured fee in a market as competitive as interior design is an essential first step in the process of securing a client.

This workshop will provide you with a process for calculating how to charge for your design services. It will give you the skills to:

  • Build your own design fee proposal for your clients in a professional manner
  • Understand how much you should charge for your work
  • How to formulate Letter of Agreement
  • How to justify your costs
  • How to ensure your clients pay for your services

After some practical exercises and group discussions, you will leave with the confidence and ability to charge correctly for your design.

Topics covered

  • How much should you charge; fee formula and outline of how to apply it to your own business
  • How to calculate your hourly rate
  • How to negotiate
  • Letter of Agreement
  • Invoicing strategy
  • Workshop (Fee exercise based on your business)
  • Q&A

You will receive a FREE BOOK with tips and templates to use for your own Business!
